Happy Holidays! (see you in January!)
Hello everyone and Happy Holidays!I am just back from a beautiful little Ontario tour full of friends, food and fun, and now am enjoying the snow in PEI and the coziness of the woodstove. We are done touring for the year, but will start up again in January with a PIE OFF at the Dunk (PEI), a trip to Halifax for In the Dead of Winter and an Eastern Belles date in Riverview NB.Look for upcoming dates in Western Canada in February, UK/Europe in April and much more!We are also working away on the studio here at home, Chris is still in full building mode, but soon we hope to have proper floors, walls and maybe even lights!I just wanted to send a little note to wish you all a happy holiday season, one full of warmth, love and connection. My daughter and I are focussing on making our presents this year, as much as possible... which helps keep me out of the malls and the merry madness! We'll be making more oven mitts and zippy pouches than you can shake a stick at. We might even get our Christmas cards out this year. Fingers crossed. As I look back on 2015, I am so grateful for all of you who keep me inspired and support me in my music. It means so much. This year, while the garden rests and the days are dark, I also remember all the beautiful friends who have left this world, though their spirit remains.Hal Mills, Ron Hynes, Jim Dorie, Canon Robert Tuck, and so many more. This Christmas, while I'll be missing these friends especially, I will aim to remember how blessed I am to have known them, to have felt their love and been given some of their wisdom.Love to you all, may there be an Acadian Tourtiere in your future ;)from our family to yours...xoxoxoCatherine
